Last leg of our Tour of Texas

We started in South Texas, made our way into West Texas, then looped around and across North Texas and made our way down through East Texas to historic Gonzales, Texas for one last night on the road.

Texas has been s-u-p-e-r windy! We’ve got mad respect for those guys that do the Hoka Hey Challenge! We’ve been whipped by the wind and decided to call it each day when we could have probably gone a little further but these guys go and go and go! They pull over when they get tired to sleep a short time in parking lots only to wake up with a pack of stray dogs snuggled up to them….true story from someone we know!

We’ve had our fair share of bad weather over the years that we’ve ridden in – extreme temps, both hot and cold; pouring rain that we could barely see in; straight line winds for hours and of course the perfect days which by far surpass the other days. I don’t call them bad days because any day we get to ride is a good day.

Random things we said today: Ooo that was a good one (wind gust), I need to fix my jacket, do we need gas, lots of colorful language when a big ol’ semi pulls out on the highway chug chug chugging to get up to speed barely ahead of us although my favorite was you cumquat mother f$&%er, was that our turn, and Bryan’s favorite set to me having a hissy fit….dang it, my ear plugs!

We love to ride and haven’t done it enough recently, it’s time we get back to it…of course that is in between the bathroom remodel, work, lake house remodel, work, family time, and work.

Until next time, smell ya later road side smells and winds it’s time to chill, I would like to use my new selfie stick on the bike for some good ride videos.
