When riding plans fall apart

The past couple of weekends we have been trying to go for an overnight ride. Things have not worked out for that to happen. First it was weather then it was my son getting hurt in a soccer game. So we’ve just taken a few one day quick rides. Today we had no plans to get up with an alarm but had planned to ride. We picked a place for breakfast and ended up finding our local HOG (Harley Owners Group) chapter there too! Then we went on our way only to stop for gas and to have some other friends that saw us on the highway pull up and say “follow us to our ranch and we’ll give you a tour, the bike will make it no problem!” So off we go. First turn off the highway was a caliche road so instant Gabbert kind of ride! Then we go through the fence and it’s rocky caliche truck tire trail! So for sure a Gabbert kind of ride! Then it opened up and we got in the truck and given a tour around their property which is really nice! It was a nice stop and on our way we went for a cool breezy ride home. Thanks Julian and Diana!

Just a little ride

Today started out with a cold dreary foggy day. We rode anyway! Went to Port Mansfield where we got to see the sun and take off our leather gear before returning to the cold and fog about 5 hours later. One of our conversations along the way was that I could be a trucker. I love being on the road and going places. Bryan said we could do that when we retire. I said we could customize our rig to have a lift to bring the bike into the back instead of a sleeping quarters being back there 👍🏻😳 We saw lots of deer just enjoying the shade in the yards of the homes too. And of course the typical Bryan trip experinces. All in all a good ride!
